Last Friday I had the opportunity to sit down at Vitality Med Spa with Camille from Skinceuticals (IG@Camille_Skinceuticals) to discuss the current state of my skin. As you know, my skin has been on a journey over the past couple of years and I have been doing everything that I can to understand exactly what is going on. You all know that I love skincare, like love love love skincare. I am constantly fascinated by what a few products can do for my skin in the long run. In the perfect world, I would have flawless skin that wouldn’t require any face makeup or BB cream. I am making progress and determining the things that work and don’t work for me and I encourage you to do the same!
This week is Vitality Med Spa’s annual spring sale where they will be marking down the prices of literally every single service that is offered, as well as launching their new Skinceuticals products! Camille from Skinceuticals will be at Vitality throughout the week conducting FREE skincare exams underneath their Skinscope light that shows our skin from the inside out– congestion, sun damage, aging areas, etc. I didn’t get to experience the light last week so I have made an appointment to stop by this week– although I am nervous to see what my skin has to show, I am excited and obviously, I plan to share all of this with you guys via IG stories! If you want to reserve a time slot to see Camille and get your skin examined under the Skinscope light all you have to do is call Vitality at 678-394-0061 (be sure to tell them that you read this post to be entered into something really fun that you don’t want to miss ;). As I mentioned above, this is totally free and super quick, but I wanted to let my ATL girls know because it really is such a good opportunity!
So, back to meeting with Camille last week– I expressed to her that I am wanting to address some discoloration that I developed during pregnancy. Honestly, it isn’t that bad right now but it comes back with a vengeance as soon as I spend a few days in the sun. I also told her that I want to work on pore congestion and anti-aging. She was so kind and helpful and educated me on why Skinceuticals is the best of the best– which, I’ll be so honest, I remember reading an article in People years back about their products and being so fascinated, but at that point in time I wasn’t in the market to spend on skincare and I didn’t realize the importance (I wish I would’ve known then what I know now!) I also talked with her about a few of the most commonly asked questions that you guys submitted on IG! Below I am going to share the few products that she has had me start on as well as answer your questions! As always, I like to truly try things out for myself before reviewing anything (so that I can be honest and share my real experiences)… so, stay tuned for that!
First up: we determined that my skin falls into the category called “combination” which essentially means that I am not totally oily and I am not totally dry– I am a combination of the two. My skin is also sensitive and I react to new products and certain ingredients quickly– which is why Camille wanted me to start out with a few products versus jumping right into an entirely new lineup of products.
Replenishing Cleanser
This is Skinceuticals newest cleanser made for combination skin! This cleanser is creamy and has a really good lather that helps to remove dirt, debris
Phloretin CF
I learned from my conversation with Camille that Vitamin C is hands down the most important and life-changing product in a skincare routine. This serum is jam-packed with ferulic acid and vitamin C and works during the daytime to help diminish fine lines, discoloration/uneven
Phyto Corrective Gel
This gel has really been amazing so far. I have been using it since Saturday morning as a spot treatment on any redness or left-over acne scars and it has helped ALREADY. It contains hyaluronic acid, cucumber, and thyme which all work together to minimize the appearance of discoloration. I have been using it as a spot treatment just because my skin takes a few days to adjust to new products, but it is shown to be an incredible all over facial moisturizer for acne prone skin. One thing that I want to address is that consistency– it is literally like nothing I’ve ever felt in a facial product. It is literally a thick gel, so a little goes a really long way. You really only need one drop to address an entire face. Phyto Corrective Gel should be the third step in your skincare routine. You can use this product day and night. For daytime, apply after Vitamin C and prior to the application of your daily SPF during the daytime. At nighttime apply after your retinol!
As always, I will keep you guys posted on my journey, as well as let you know which products are my favorites! Camille is planning to introduce me to a few more but we want to move slowly so that my skin doesn’t get thrown out of whack from too much newness at once 🙂
If you live in the Atlanta area you really should find a time to stop by for a consult with Camille and get your skin looked at under the light! As I said before, it’s totally free and you aren’t required to purchase anything, so no pressure! If you do decide to stop by, be sure to mention this blog post to be entered in to win a full skincare regiment with Skinceuticals! Also, by stopping by you will get access to sale prices on these products, facials and procedures that you can’t get anywhere else! Literally, run.
