What I feed Luca & Leni is one of the most commonly asked questions that I receive on a daily basis. I won’t lie about this at all– it can get HARD sometimes to not just give them the premade, easy stuff. Especially with a three-year-old who one-day bananas are his favorite food and the following day bananas are the food he despises the most. It gets tricky, but, it is really important to me to feed my children a healthy diet and to teach them about the importance of food early on. When I discover a way to feed them healthy foods that 1) are quick and easy and 2) they love, I consider that a full-on #momwin (and incorporate it into the daily lineup on most days).
Breakfast is how our day starts and it’s important to start the day off with a healthy meal. Some days we hang at home and the mornings are calm, other days we are getting dressed and running out the door. For any kind of morning, this is our go-to breakfast staple for the kids. If you make this for your babes, be sure to tag me on IG so I can share 🙂 Enjoy!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1/4 cup FAGE Greek Yogurt
- 1 Banana
- 3-5 Strawberries
- 1/2 cup Liquid of Choice: apple juice, oat milk, etc.
- Ice
WHAT TO DO:
Add all ingredients, except for ice to a blender. Blend well, until very smooth in consistency. Once the smoothie is chunk-free, add ice to the blender, and blend again until smooth. If your smoothie comes out a little too chunky, add extra liquid until it reaches a consistency that is of your liking! Pour into cups and enjoy!
P.S. If you really want to make this fun, this recipe can serve as a “smoothie-bowl.” All you have to do is pour the smoothie it into a bowl and top it with berries, banana slices, and granola. Eat with a spoon and enjoy knowing that you’re feeding your babes the best stuff out there!
